Introduction
Cleanup is performed to remove any temporary files and Tranzman Agents files. Cleanup is performed only after a successful Post-Assessment Cleanup also removes the ability for rollback. Clean up can only be performed when Appliance state is COMPLETED Clean up is currently only Supported for Same Vendor Migrations.
- Clean up activities should be performed only when the support period is over.
Host Properties Clean-up
- Host properties cleanup will remove the Origin serverentry from bp.conf/registry of all migrated servers.
- Use Tranzman Host Management to update client host properties.
NOTE: Do not use this if the master was demoted.
Component Clean-up
- Removal of Migrated Components from the origin (when doing a split). Can opt to choose to remove or keep migrated components on the Origin.
Tranzman can be used to clean-up everything that has been marked as migrated. NOTE: cannot clean up components when the master is demoted.
- Clean up Origin / Destination Agent will remove temporary files and folders that Tranzman created during the transition.
Uninstalling Tranzman Agent
On Linux
- Identify and kill running TZM processes
pkill tzm
- If there is no “pkill” command then get a list of processes using
ps –ef | grep tzm
- kill each one using the “kill” command.
kill <process> <process> … <process_n>
- If a start/stop script was installed, remove it from the /etc/init.d path or /etc/rc2.d path.
- Finally, remove the agent binaries and temporary files from the install path (default path is used in this example)
rm –rf /opt/SRL
On Windows
- Identify the agent installation path
- In most cases, agent will be installed on the same path of Backup vendor parent dir to avoid anti-virus scanning issues.
<BACKUP_INSTALL_PATH>\tzmclnt
- Alternatively check tranzman service properties to identify the path
- Open explorer window and navigate to the Tranzman agent install path
- Double click on the Uninstall.exe application to perform Agent uninstallation.
Tranzman Server Decommissioning
We suggest to decommission the Tranzman VM after successful completion of migration.
- To decommission a Virtual Appliance, simply power-off and delete the virtual machine.
- For a physical system, follow the decommission as like any other server.
- To wipe that data on it, perform a factory reset from the CLISH.
- To re-use the Appliance to perform another migration, it is recommended that a factory reset is performed.
NOTE. It can take a while for the factory reset to complete, and if it is a Virtual Appliance it is recommended to delete and re-install.
