NetBackup AIR consideration

Jump to: navigation, search

When migrating a master that has an “AIR” component, make sure that the TRUST is configured between the destination and its REMOTE MASTER before starting the migration. Add a RENAME RULE if needed to map between current TRUSTED MASTER and the one created (if it is a different name) Replication Hosts should not be renamed during the migration. If the Origin is being demoted, make sure there are NO rename rules for the master. NOTE: Two masters that have AIRed images between them cannot be merged. Duplicate images would need to be expired from SOURCE or the TARGET to make them UNIQUE. Ensure that the SOURCE side will retain header for the Image until after the Target is expired. This makes it very DIFFICULT to remove the SOURCE record, even if there are no VALID copies at the SOURCE. Manipulation of SOURCE relational database is the only way to achieve this. This is outside the scope of a Tranzman Migration.
