One installation of Tranzman Appliance can be used to convert many environments, however, the following requirements need to be met.
RAM
- Minimum of 8GB of RAM.
- Additional 1GB of RAM is required for every tape drive connected to the Appliance.
CPU
- Minimum 4 core Intel CPU is required.
- Additional 1 core for every tape drive connected to the Appliance.
- Additional cores required for multiple conversions at the same time.
- AMD processors are not supported at this moment.
Network
- 1Gbit minimum connection required.
- 10Gbit connection recommended to ensure that duplication can drive destination media at a reasonable speed.
- 2 x 1Gbit connections (per tape drive) can be used if no 10Gbit NIC is present.
- If multiple links are used, aggregation is needed to provide maximum throughput.
Storage
- 3GB local disk for OS Installation.
- Local/SAN attached disks needed for temporary staging of converted images, sized according to volume of recoveries to accommodate at any one time.
- Data Volume 2 x the size of all environment catalogs. (Origin and Destination)
- Database Volume should be the combined total number of images from environments x 500 bytes.
- Swap Volume 2 x Memory Size. (8GB RAM = 16GB of Swap)
- Logs Volume 25% of database volume.
