* The Acceptance document can be downloaded from <b>Tasks</b>-><b>Download</b> section of Tranzman side menu.

* By clicking on the <i>Generate documents</i> icon on the top right, generates the Acceptance and evidence files.

* This generates two documents per pair as: <i>TRANZMAN_Environments_<nowiki><ctime>_<origin name>_<destination name></nowiki>.odt</i> and <i>TRANZMAN_Environments_<nowiki><ctime>_<origin name>_<destination name></nowiki>.odt</i>

* It also generates a zip file of all the gathered logs as <i>evidence<nowiki>_<ctime></nowiki></i>.tgz

* Clicking on the documents, lets to download the files locally.

The document will show ALL test and will provide more detail for the ones that had a YELLOW ! They will be marked as FAIL.<br>

Investigate all FAIL entries and resolve if possible.<br>

Document that has FAIL on it should NOT be signed off. Make sure to update any FAIL to ADV (advised) and provide the customer with details about test and the reason for its acceptance.<br>

Post Assessment & Acceptance Report Overview

The Tranzman Appliance provides a comprehensive Post Assessment to validate migration success.
There are two elements to the Post Assessment: Observational Tests and Automated Tests.
Tranzman generates a downloadable report and an archive (evidence.zip) containing all automated test data.

Post Assessment Elements

  • 10 Observational Tests: User selects each test as Passed, Failed, or NA (not applicable).
  • 22 Automated Tests: Tranzman runs commands and checks outputs to determine pass/fail/NA.
  • Tranzman generates a report of findings and an evidence.zip archive for download.

Understanding Assessment Results

  • Yellow triangle exclamation.jpg Additional messages provided for this test; investigate further.
  • Green circle tick.jpg Issue acknowledged.
  • Blue circle info.jpg More information available about the check result.
  • Grey tick.jpg Test ran without issue; no additional messages.
  • Grey dash.jpg Test not applicable to environment; skipped.
  • Anything with Yellow triangle exclamation.jpg should be investigated and resolved if needed.

Individual checks can be selected and rerun. Rerun is enabled Rerun enabled.jpg when checks are selected, otherwise disabled Rerun disabled.jpg.

Automated Tests (NetBackup)

  • Catalog Structure: Verify the Image directory structure
  • Master Name on Master Server: Check master server name consistency between EMM and Host Properties
  • Master Name on Media Servers: Verify media servers use the same master name in config
  • Media Server Connectivity: Test media server connectivity
  • Host Connectivity: Test host connectivity
  • Tape Devices States: Check for pending or down tape drives
  • Disk Pools: Check for DOWN disk pools
  • Catalog Backup: Verify successful catalog backups
  • Policy Configuration: Check all policies are valid
  • Residency Configuration: Check residencies do not reference non-existent residencies/hosts
  • De-assign Empty: Verify image/media clean-up functionality
  • Image and Media Consistency Check: Check images and media consistency
  • Cluster Nodes Differ: Check all cluster nodes use same OS/platform and NetBackup version
  • Foreign Media: Check for foreign media entries in EMM listhosts output
  • Check Services/Processes: Verify required services/processes are active on master server
  • Check Appliance Demoted: Check demoted appliance is correctly configured as media server
  • Credentials: Validate credentials are working
  • Images and Image Headers Check: Check image header/files consistency and crosscheck destination vs origin
  • Clean up Temp Host File Content: Verify no temporary host file entries left from Tranzman
  • Images Copies Consistency Check: Check consistency between copies and retentions
  • Master Certificate Working: Verify master can get its own certificate
  • Rogue Files/Folders in Catalog: Verify no rogue files/folders in Images path; report unassociated folders/files

Downloading Tranzman Acceptance Report

  • Download the Acceptance document from Tasks → Download in the Tranzman side menu.
  • If documents are not available, click Generate doc icon.jpg to generate Acceptance and evidence files.
  • Two documents per migration pair are generated:
    • TRANZMAN_Environments_<ctime>_<origin name>_<destination name>.odt
    • TRANZMAN_Environments_<ctime>_<origin name>_<destination name>.odt
  • A zip file of all gathered logs is generated as evidence_<ctime>.tgz.
  • Click the document to download locally.

Acceptance & Sign-Off Guidance

  • The document shows all tests and provides details for those marked with Yellow triangle exclamation.jpg (marked as FAIL).
  • Investigate all FAIL entries and resolve if possible.
  • Documents with FAIL should NOT be signed off. Update any FAIL to ADV (advised) and provide customer with details about the test and reason for acceptance.
